Alice Treehuba

Death Notice

TREEHUBA, Alice C. With profound sadness we announce the passing of Alice (Ali) C. (Walker) Treehuba peacefully at University Hospital on Monday, June 15, 2009. Beloved wife of the Late Thomas Treehuba (1970) and cherished mother of Gregory T. Treehuba. Predeceased by her parents James and Anne (Conway) Walker, four sisters and a brother. Survived by brother James Walker of Huntsville and cousins in New York, Vermont and New Hampshire. Born in Bellows Falls, Vermont, Ali remained a proud Vermonter all of her life, returning to the USA often to enjoy time with friends and family in both New York and New England. She spent her adult life in London where she was active in the American Women's League, the Fontbonne Auxiliary, the Catholic Women's League, the Marian Villa Auxiliary, and the Women's Guild of Holy Rosary Parish. She was also a volunteer for many years with University Hospital, The London and Region Cancer Centre, and many political campaigns. All who knew Ali were touched by her friendship, candour, loyalty, humour, and ready smile and they will greatly miss her indomitable spirit, generous nature, keen wit, and New England practicality. Her many fine qualities will forever inspire family and friends. Ali lived in beauty, dignity, and grace. At Ali's request a private family funeral was held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 with interment at the family cemetery. Ali has made her final trip to Vermont. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to: "The Charles Drake Neurological Fund" c/o Foundation Western, UWO, Westminster Hall, Suite 110, London N6A 3K7 Attn: Donna Swanson OR The Mount Hope Fund at St. Mary's-Mount Hope, 21 Grosvenor Street, London N6A 1Y6.
