Tony Manders

Death Notice

Suddenly at University Hospital in London on Friday April 2, 2010, Tony Manders in his 49th year. Born in The Netherlands, Tony came to Canada in 1986 and worked as a florist in London until he bought his own store, Regency Florists in 1998. Tony was a long standing member of AIFD and CAFA. Loving brother of Minnie and Leo Bongers, Kerwood, Leo (Jolanda), Hannie (Piet Hein Swinkles), Ine (Jan) van de Rijt, Jan (Maria), Geert (Marieke), Jos (Gerrie) and Mark, all in Holland. Also remembered by brother in law Jan (Wil) van den Elzen, and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Gerrit and Fien Manders, sister Joke van den Elzen and niece Elle. Tony will be sadly missed by many close friends and his loyal customers. He was a tireless worker whose creativity and attention to detail inspired everyone he served, taught and worked along side. His talent will be greatly missed in the floral community. A memorial service and celebration of his life will take place on April 9, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the London Convention Centre with reception to follow.
