Nowak, Edwin S. - peacefully at Creekway Village, Burlington on Thursday, May 20, 2010, Dr. Edwin Stanislaus Nowak, P.Eng., formerly of London in his 78th year. Beloved husband of the late Charlotte "Lottie" Nowak, nee Bozek. Loving father of Christine Sangster and her husband Bill of London and Robert Novak and his wife Flora of Oakville. Dear grandfather of Maria Clara and Stephen of Oakville. Brother of Jennie Andruszkiewicz, Mary Novak, Loretta Floresco, Matthew Novak and John Novak. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Edwin was a graduate of McGill and Purdue Universities. He had a distinguished career as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Western Ontario (1962-1998) and was founder of the UWO Accident Research Team. Active in the Polish Canadian Community, he was also the former president of Friends of the Catholic University of Lublin. Edwin had a huge heart and was always helping members of his family, friends and students and colleagues. Friends may call on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James at Richmond. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, on Saturday, May 22 at 10 a.m. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
