Death Notice

Le Barr, Gladys Winnifred (nee Bogue) - at the age of 93, peacefully at home with family, after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Predeceased by her husband Wilfred Thomas Le Barr. Loving mother of Joanne of London, and Janet and her husband Clayton Rollins of Cobden. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Caeli, Peyton and Alex. Dear Aunt of Ali Elder (Wilson) and her husband Paul, Dennis Wilson and his wife Judi, and Jane White (Wilson) and her husband Doug. Gladys enjoyed her time working at the Pembroke Civic Hospital and was an avid curler, golfer and lawn bowler, a fan of many sports. Gardening was her favourite pastime and she spent many pleasant hours admiring her flowers with her canine buddy, Ted. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Palliative Care Team of the Middlesex-Elgin Branch of the VON, CCAC's personal support workers, and the Enhanced Personal Support Worker Program which enabled us to fulfill our mother's wish to remain at home. We also thank Dr. Peck and his team in the Radiology Dept. of London's University Hospital for the excellent care provided to Gladys. Family will receive visitors from 7 - 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond, London. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, September 6 at 11:00 a.m.
